Faculty and Staff | Avaya Voice Player
In the near future, PSU will be moving away from using the Avaya Voice Mail system and Message Manager. The new program promises to be more powerful and versatile than the current system. Unfortunately, the new system is not able to play messages from the current system. For this reason we recommend downloading any important voicemails to your computer's harddrive so that you may still listen to them at a future date.
If you are not currenlty using Message Manager please click here for instructions on installation and use.
Audix will only save messages for 10 days. After this time period they are automatically deleted. If you have some messages you wish to keep you must save them in your personal folders which are located on your hard drive. When you first open Message Manager, you will not have any personal folders available. To create a new personal folder go to FILE, NEW and select PERSONAL FOLDER. The following screen will display.

You will first need to select where you want to save your messages. You need to save your files in a new directory so that they are not deleted when you uninstall Message Manager. This will also make them much easier to find in the future.
Once you have created a new personal folder it will show up as a sub-folder of the folder marked Personal folders. At this point, all you have to do to save your messages is drag and drop them into your personal folder. The messages will still appear in your Audix voicemail box until you delete them or Audix deletes them after 10 days. They will, however, remain on your computer until you delete them yourself.

Once you have copied the files to the computer you need to go to the Avaya site to download the Avaya Voice Player program in order to play them. When the program has finished downloading, double click the program icon to install it. After the program has been installed open it and go to File and then Open. From the open window you will need to navigate to the directory where you saved the files. Avaya automatically saves the files in the format shown. It may be helpful for you to rename the files so that you can easily recogonize them.
Once you click Open, Avaya Voice Player will play your message through the speakers on your computer.
