CALL FORWARDING (to forward your calls to another extension)

To activate:

CALL HOLD (to place a call on hold)

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial *4, and lay down the receiver. Do NOT hang up.

To hold a call:

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial *4 and dial 3rd party.

To hold a call and dial a third party:

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial *4, and begin talking.

To alternate between parties:

HANG UP, your phone will ring with 3 short rings, answer and resume your conversation

To return to a call on hold:

CALL PICK UP (to answer a ringing phone in your pick-up group. This feature must be requested by a Telecom Coordinator)

dial *7 and begin talking

To answer a phone in your pick-up group:

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial *4, and begin talking

To hold a call and pick up another call:

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial *4, and begin talking

To alternate between parties:

HANG UP, your phone will ring with 3 short rings, answer and resume your conversation

To return to a call on hold:

TRANSFER/CONFERENCE (to transfer a call or conference with a third party)

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial third party, announce call, depress FLASH/RECALL, introduce call, hang up

To transfer a call:

 

Depress FLASH/RECALL, dial third party, announce call, depress FLASH/RECALL, introduce parties, begin conference

To conference third party:

 

Depress FLASH/RECALL, third party is released

To drop third party from conference:

Depress FLASH/RECALL, hear busy /no ring /no answer /recording, etc. Depress FLASH/RECALL, continue conversation with remaining party

To drop a busy signal, a ring no answer, or a recording:

 

Dial the first number and begin talking. Hit CONF, dial second number and talk to the second party. Hit CONF to talk to both parties. Repeat this for up to 5 other parties.

If you have a conference button (up to 5 participants):

Programming and autodial button on an 8410 or 8434 telephone set

  1. Get dial tone.
  2. Press MENU.
  3. Press PROG.
  4. Press the autodial button on your phone you want to program.
  5. Dial the number you want to store for this button.  Remember to include a 9 if you are dialing off-campus.
  6. Press # key to store the number.
  7. Hang up.
  8. Make a test call by pressing the button you programmed.
