Moving Office Around PSU

Moving your office around PSU can be frustrating and confusing. The following five steps should help to ensure that at least your phone and internet service are disrupted as little as possible during the move.

  1. What Services do you use now?
  2. First, take an inventory of services in your office. Check how many phone lines, computers (internet data jacks), and/or network printers are currently used.

  3. Assess the new space
  4. Take a look at your new office space and plan ahead as to where phones, computers, and fax machines will be located. It is important to plan ahead because only the necessary data and voice jacks will be activated. Should you decide to move a phone after a couple of days another work order will need to be submitted and the department will be charged for it.

  5. Create a simple map of the new space.
  6. Now that you know which services you will need in the new office. Draw a simple map of the new space and where services should be located.

  7. Let your NTS Coordinator know about your service needs
  8. NTS Coordinators are responsible for communicating with NTS about moving your services. Please pass on your service needs and the simple map to your NTS Coordinator.

  9. Allow NTS 10 business days to finish move order
Once your NTS Coordinator has placed the order in our online order system, TAOS, it can take up to 10 business days for the work to be complete. Please contact your NTS Coordinator for the details about move timelines.
