How to Use the PSU Phone System

The PSU phone system can be a little confusing. The following links were designed to help you figure out how to use your voicemail, phone, and all the features available to you through NTS.

Dialing Instructions

The PSU telephone network is a closed system. This means that making local and long-distance telephone calls may be different than what you are accustomed to. The dialing instructions page helps to explain how to make telephone calls from your PSU telephone.

Authorization Codes & Long Distance Calling

The PSU telephone network requires the use of Long Distance Authorization Codes to place long distance calls. In accordance with PSU policy, long distance codes are assigned as unique numbers to each PSU faculty or staff member desiring long distance service. Do not share your long distance code with anyone. Encourage your coworkers to obtain their own code from the NTS office. Never give out your long distance code to anyone else. You are held responsible for all charges made with your code regardless if you made the calls or not. If your long distance code is lost or you suspect someone else is using it, contact the NTS office immediately at 5-4434 or e-mail us at nts@lists.pdx.edu.

Using your Voicemail

The PSU voicemail system may seem a bit over-whelming when you first try to check your voicemail. The Using Voicemail page will help walk you through using our Intuity Audix system.

Message Manager

Message Manager is a program that is capable of interacting with the PSU IntuityAudix Voicemail system. This program makes it easier for you to record and manage your greetings as well as allowing you to set up many different features such as out-calling notifcation and mailing lists.
