AVST Voicemail

PSU will be launching a new voicemail system to replace our aging Intuity Audix system. Our new system, powered by AVST CallXpress software, includes Unified Messaging, Fax Server, and Text-to-Speech applications.  With this new system, customers will be able to access their voice mail online; treating voice mail much the same as email at their desktop or via the Web.  With our current voice mail system, users can receive faxes.  The new CallXpress system will include some licenses to both send and receive faxes.

Some Background: The existing Intuity Audix system was installed over 10 years ago and it has experienced problems with reliability in the past few years.  It has been officially "manufacturer discontinued" which means vendor support will become increasingly problematic.  In addition to increasing the reliability of our voice mail and addressing future vendor support issues, we wanted to obtain newer voice messaging technologies.

What you need to know: Our objective is to make the change to the new system as seamless as possible for end-users. Voice mail messages from the existing Intuity Audix system will NOT be migrated automatically to the new CallXpress system.  However, we do have a method for users to archive their current voice mails and retrieve them at a later date if needed for legal purposes, etc. Please contact us at 503-725-4434 for more information.

We will be testing the system beginning in mid-July with full implementation in August 2008.
