Yes. Messages that have been in your mailbox longer than 30 days will be automatically purged from the system, no matter if they are saved in Web PhoneManager or not. For instructions on how to download and save messages to your hard drive please click here.
CallXpress requires that password be secure so it does not allow concurrent or consecutive digits. For example, you can not use the password 2255 or 1234. You may also not use your extension as the password.

Yes, CallXpress’s Web PhoneManager allows us to access messages, change settings, and record greetings through the web at voicemail.pdx.edu. Log in using you’re your five digit extension (digits only), and mailbox password. For help using Web PhoneManager please see our instructions.
After the message has played, press 8 to reply. You can then press 1 to reply to their voice mail box or press 3 to call back their extension. Please note, you can only reply to other CallXpress users' voice mail boxes.
During or after listening to a message and before the system presents the next message, press 0 to access the message information. Press 0 again to hear the header information played.
If your phone has a message waiting lamp, it will light up. In addition, there is an option to receive notifications via email or your personal cell phone/pager. For help setting up notification settings please see our instructions on Web PhoneManager.
At the main menu, press 3 to access PhoneManager user options. Press 1 to change personal options and then press 3 to record your personal greeting. You can then press 1 to record your busy-greeting, 2 to record your standard greeting and 3 to record your out-of-office greeting (note, recording an out-of-office greeting will automatically set that as active). The system will play the current recording before giving you the option of staying with that greeting or deleting it and recording a new one.
Yes. If you are transferring a caller to another CallXpress subscriber, you can transfer a call straight to their voicemail by pressing 8 from the listening options menu. Then press 1 to 4 to transfer the call to another extension. Alternatively, you can send a new voicemail directly to another CallXpress voicemail box by pressing 2 at the main menu and then following the voice prompts.
CallXpress allows users to access their voicemail from a web interface, send and receive faxes, as well as configure an account in your email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, or MacMail to receive messages. There are expanded options for notification of new messages when away from your desk.
There are some features that we have the option of adding at a later date which may need to have a separate fee associated with them because they are charged to us on a per license basis. We are exploring these optional features such as Text-to-Speech and Find-Me-Follow-Me.
Users can send and receive faxes at their desktops. They are able to send a fax to a printer if they need a hardcopy or save the file elsewhere. We do have limits on the fax capacity so we will need to survey our users to find out how many are interested in utilizing the fax features. These features will be rolled out to campus in later in 2008.
When you access your new CallXpress voicemail box for the very first time you will be prompted by the system to record your name, personal greeting and to change your security code. For instructions on how to update you standard greeting, record your busy greeting and out office greetings please use the interface of your choosing:
CallXpress plays a "busy-greeting" when you are on the phone. If you have not recorded a busy greeting then CallXpress plays the default greeting. Please see the Getting Started page for instructions on recording your busy greeting
Yes. You can set up a standard outgoing message for all incoming calls and an out of office message for when you are away for an extended period of time.
Voicemail service is included with any campus phone extension for no extra charge. Users receive a voicemail box that can be accessed via the phone, the desktop, or email clients.

No, the three different ways of access voicemail messages are synced. So once a message is deleted from the telephone interface and you hang up the message is deleted from the system.
No, you can not access your CallXpress voicemail messages through WebMail. If you access your PSU email account through an email client such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird or Apple MacMail you can set up an alternate account to access your voicemail messages as well.
Voicemail messages appear as an attached wave file.
