Basic Service Rates & Charges
NTS offers local & extended area telephone service at one of the lowest rates in the Portland area. Some of the "hidden savings" include:
- No federal, state or local excise taxes.
- No extra fees for long-distance access.
- No extra fees for extended area local calling.
- No extra fees for state programs.
Telephone Services
$11/month per subscriber. One-time $10 sign-up fee per subscriber.
Telephone Service (rate per line) Includes: Voice Mail, Call Waiting/3-way Calling, Speed Dialing (10-number list) and Caller ID
Commuter Voice Mail (no telephone line)
Long Distance Services
The PSU telephone network requires the use of Long Distance Authorization Codes to place long distance calls. These codes are assigned as unique numbers to each student desiring long distance service. Do not share your LD Authorization code with anyone. Encourage your roommates to obtain their own authorization code from NTS office. Please see the Request Service page for information on identification required to sign-up.
PSU is the only long distance and telephone provider available for University Housing Apartments. However, you may use pre-paid long distance calling cards to make long distance calls.

$16.50 per month per subscriber. One-time $15 sign-up fee per subscriber.
No monthly charge, but equipment replacement charge of $100 if NOT RETURNED in good working order.

Payment of NTS Bills
NTS Office: You can pay with Check/Money order, or Cash. This is the recommended form of payment.
Cashiers in Neuberger Hall Lobby: You can pay with Check/Money Order, Cash or Credit cards. If you decide to pay through the cashiers you need to make sure that the cashiers apply the payment to your NTS bill or you payment will be misapplied and your service may be disconnected due to non-payment.

Banweb Payments: Be aware paying online using www.banweb.pdx.edu, at this time payments can not pay specific charges and may leave NTS charges unpaid on student's University accounts. We recommend that you do not pay your bill online at this time.
Disconnection of Service and Reconnect Charges
$30 to re-establish student account PLUS all outstanding charges (must be paid at the time of reconnection).
Service disconnected for delinquency (non-payment of Telecom bill)

Service disconnected for long-distance only customers

All your outstanding charges must be paid in full, in addition to the account re-establishment fee before your ResNet2 service will be restored.

Relocation of Service (no change in service)
$25 per visit if repair is caused by resident (no charge otherwise)
$40 minimum for wiring repair (may be more depending on extent of damage)
