Anti-virus Protection

Since your computer is attached to the PSU network it is very important that you have updated anti-virus software and that your computer is virus-free. Should your computer become infected you may be temporarily put into a secure network that will further instruct you on how to resolve the problem. In order to avoid this problem we recommend you install McAfee anti-virus or some other virus software such as McAfee on your computer. You can get McAfee either by going to the Help Desk in Room 18 in the Smith Memorial Student Union Basement or you can download the software from myfiles.pdx.edu

See the USS Help Desk website for instructions on downloading and installing McAfee Anti-virus from your webmail account.

NTS's Bandwidth Policy

The PSU network is a shared network. Not only is it shared campus-wide, but it is also shared with other institutions such as OHSU. For this reason we have had to limit the amount of bandwidth available to students to try to increase speeds campus-wide. You can see the Bandwidth Policy for more details.
