Students | UPL ResNet2
University Place ResNet2 internet service will be active and ready for use when you move into your UPL room. You must have two things to connect to the ResNet2 service; a network card (NIC card) and an Ethernet cable. For help finding out if your computer has a NIC card contact the USS Helpdesk ((503)725-4357). Ethernet cables can be purchased at the PSU Bookstore.

Since your computer is attached to the PSU network it is very important that you have updated anti-virus software and that your computer is virus-free. Should your computer become infected you may be temporarily put into a secure network that will further instruct you on how to resolve the problem. In order to avoid this problem we recommend you install Norton anti-virus or some other virus software such as McAfee on your computer. You can get Norton either by going to the Help Desk in Room 18 in the Smith Memorial Student Union Basement or you can download the software from your webmail account.
See the USS Help Desk website for instructions on downloading and intalling Norton Anti-virus from your webmail account.
The PSU network is a shared network. Not only is it shared campus-wide, but it is also shared with other institutions such as OHSU. For this reason we have had to limit the amount of bandwidth available to students to try to increase speeds campus-wide. You can see the Bandwidth Policy for more details.
If you are experiencing problems call USS Help Desk 503-725-4357
Please read PSU's Acceptable Use Policy which pertains to the above ResNet services.
